Step-By-Step Exterior Method

Safe Contactless Pre-Wash & Safe Drying

A vehicle's clear coat is incredibly delicate. Dragging dirt across it using automatic roll-over bristles or rushed sponges creates thousands of microscopic scratches (known as "swirl marks"). Our process emphasizes grit removal before we ever touch the paintwork.

Why Contact-Free Washing Matters

UK motorways deposit a greasy, abrasive mixture of soot, oil, metal brake dust, and salt onto car surfaces. Simply applying soapy water and wiping immediately drives these sharp particles straight into the paint surface.

We advocate for a multi-stage process that chemically loosens and suspends this grit first, allowing it to be flushed away safely with a controlled, high-volume pressure washer.

When is this ideal?

Recommended as a baseline maintenance wash every 2 to 4 weeks depending on road usage, parking environments, and existing paint protective layers.

*Note: A safe wash clean does not dissolve deeply bonded tar, iron fallout, or industrial contaminants. For that, we advise looking at our chemical decontamination process in our Detailing section.

Exterior Washing Protocol

  • Tyre and Arch Flushes: Safe cleaning inside arches to clear out caked-on salt and road grime.
  • Snow Foam Pre-Wash: A dense layer of active foam sits for 5 minutes, lifting coarse dust particles.
  • Two-Bucket Rinse Wash: Real-time contact using high-quality wool wash mitts and separate rinse buckets with grit traps.
  • Safe Drying: Blowers and ultra-soft deep-pile microfibre drying towels designed to protect gloss levels.
